She Left with the Wind began as a celebration of renewal that comes with vernal winds, evolving into a dreamy sense of longing to be swept up with the currents, an escape with the clouds. Along with feelings of rejuvenation, came a heavy sense of melancholy for losses experienced and the deterioration of the natural world. Embraced in the sculpture is a dichotomy of the need to revel in the exaltation of regrowth, and a mournful lamentation of what is meaningful and significant.
